TimeSplitters 4 Star Wars Parody Disappears

That's odd.

A recent trailer for TimeSplitters 4 that featured a parody of Star Wars has mysteriously disappeared from Free Radical's site. While no official comment about the trailer disappearance was forth coming it appears the question may be settled in this post found on the developer's official FAQ:

What happened to the latest TimeSplitters trailer (featuring "Sir Chimpalot")?

Some people with a sense of humour deficiency bizarrely thought that it infringed their copyright. We've got better things to do than argue about that kind of thing, so we took it down instead. Rest assured, though, that Sir Chimpalot will still feature in the next TimeSplitters game.

How strange. And I hear Free Radical is even working on something with Lucas. Hope this isn't the start of relationships going south.

TimeSplitters 4 Concept Art

If Haze didn't float your boat, and it didn't float many, Free Radical's right back atcha with TimeSplitters 4. Of course the game has been officially officially known for some time, but FR put up three concept art scans on the official website earlier this week. The chainsaw nun above is one. You can also get a look at some blinged out four-wheel cat ("Cat Racing: Underground") and a dismembered Monkey/Frank n' Furter transvestite robot on a torture rack. If those descriptions don't send you over, I mean, what will. Check also the homage trailer to LucasArts/Revenge of the Sith with Vader's role reprised by, what else, a monkey.

Which System Should TimeSplitters 4 Be On?

Free Radical wants you to vote.

The developers behind the successful TimeSplitters series of games, which graced the PlayStation 2, Xbox and Gamecube since 2000, want your opinion on which system they should present their next game "TimeSplitters 4". The last game from the franchise was released back in 2005 and fans have been asking for a sequel for quite sometime.

Now fans of the series and the genre can vote which system they ’want to play TimeSplitters 4 on...’



At this moment, the surprise leader is the Nintendo Wii which is dominating the pool with a huge margin over both the PlayStation 3 and 360. While this might not mean the game would be made exclusively for the Wii, it would definitely help the possibility of it appearing on the Nintendo console.

No word on when the poll will close, but if you enjoyed the series, you should really go and vote.

TimeSplitters 4 officially announced!

TimeSplitters fans rejoice! Free Radical, makers of the upcoming PS3 game Haze, has officially announced it is now making TimeSplitters 4. It hasn't been announced for any console yet, but I'd assume it would at least be on the PS3, especially with Haze all but being a PS3 exclusive *last I heard no 360 port was actually in development*. A release trailer is now out, flashing the words "fight to the finish". Hmm... Where could they have possibly gotten that one from?

TimeSplitters 4 officially in development

The game's official mini-website has gone live.

Free Radical Design has talked about TimeSplitters 4 before. We know it's in development... and that's about all we know.

But now we also know the game's offical page on the Free Radical Design site is live. It features a bunch of job openings for development of the game and the following message from the company:

It's back! Featuring even more crazy characters, devastating weapons and heart pounding hot sweaty action. It's funny, it's frantic and it'll do things you've never seen before! No, not naked girls, even better than that! We can't tell you the details yet, the monkeys have a loaded banana pressed against our skull, but this game will take the first person shooter to gaming nirvana. Save the world or die laughing, Timesplitters 4 is coming to getcha!

Other than that, TimeSplitters 4 has no release date, no publisher and no confirmation of which platforms it will appear on. But we'll have more soon.

Simian Hijinks Reveal TimeSplitters 4

Some yucks but few hard facts in the first info for Free Radical's new game.

British developer Free Radical is getting in on the Halo buzz with the first teaser for the latest game in its TimeSplitters series.



In a video posted on the company's site, Free Radical pokes fun at Master Chief, giving him a simian makeover in the name of self-promotion. Besides the short video, which shows nothing at all related to TimeSplitters 4, the company is mum on specifics about the game, saying only that it "will take the first person shooter to gaming nirvana".

There's no word yet on what system the game is coming for, and even the job ads on the company's site give no hint of where it will land. Free Radical is, however, working on a few new games already, including delayed shooter Haze, which is coming only to the PlayStation 3.
